Landscaping/Rooftop

To reduce one of our large recurring operating expenses, I formed and led a resident-driven Landscaping Commission, empowering volunteer stewards to manage and enhance our outdoor spaces. This initiative eliminated a significant budget line item while strengthening community engagement and pride of ownership.

Our rooftop is both an environmental asset and a resident amenity.

Features include:
• Green roof pods that help insulate the building and reduce h eat load
• Rain barrels that mitigate stormwater runoff and lessen strain on city sewers
•A seasonal retreat that, for three of our four seasons, serves as a true oasis in the heart of the Chicago Loop

This project reflects strategic cost control, sustainable infrastructure thinking, and resident-led community building — all aligned with long-term asset stewardship.
