Relationships are greater than networking

My network isn’t a list of contacts saved in my phone, collection of LinkedIn connections, or a drawer filled with random business cards… It’s a web of real relationships—built on trust, loyalty, and a shared belief that we’re better when we support one another.

I genuinely enjoy meeting people. Not because I’m looking for something, but because I believe everyone brings value to the table. The Concierge and the CEO carry the same weight in my mind. Titles don’t define contribution—people do.

That belief has shaped how I think about networking. If you haven’t heard of reverse networking, let me introduce the idea. Instead of approaching new connections with the question, What can this person do for me? start with What can I do for them? That shift changes everything. It turns a transaction into a partnership, and an introduction into a relationship.

The strongest networks are built through generosity. When you lead with service, curiosity, and a genuine desire to help, trust follows naturally—and so do opportunities.

Networking shouldn’t feel like work. At its core, it’s simply human engagement – when we focus on contributing to the growth of others, something powerful happens: we ALL grow.
